UUT 2013
Welcome to UUT 2013, the University Ultimate Tournament started a couple of years ago in Brussels. After two editions the organisation stopped in Belgium. After a UUT-less year NUTS happily took over the organisation and brought their favourite tournament to Amsterdam in 2010.
We’re very happy to see many teams come back over the years to UUT. Our goal is to bring you a tournament that you love as much as we do ourselves, because we believe that playing ultimate is all about going to great tournaments with your team and have heaps of fun.
As a student club NUTS tries to combine a good level of ultimate with the fun you’re looking for at a tournament. Besides, we want to give the student Frisbee scene a boost. Of course there is a national college division in some countries, but what makes UUT unique is that student teams from all over Europe come together to play in a tournament.
UUT 2013 will be the sixth edition and a preparation for coronation day! We’ll have everything you’re used to like a killer party on Saturday, delicious dinner and our locally brewed beer.
The organisation committee is looking forward to a fantastic weekend!

Format
UUT 2013 is played in a loose mixed format. That means that all teams have to play with at least two girls on the line. Offence may decide to play with more, but it’s up to the other team’s spirit and availability of girls to match the opponent. Teams with very few girls may agree on playing with fewer girls, if that’s better for both teams. Please keep in mind that the official format is loose mixed.
Rules
UUT 2013 is played by the WFDF Rules of Ultimate. In addition to this set of rules, we would like to stress that UUT is only for students. UUT provides a unique opportunity for student teams to play against other college teams from all over Europe– teams they won’t play against in their national competition. Therefore, we allow only students to play. Everyone is welcome as a guest or coach of course. We trust each team’s spirit in this matter.
So what is a student? Everyone who is or was a student in the academic year 2012-2013. So if you graduated in December, you’re lucky. PHD-students are considered students so they’re eligible to play as well.

Accommodation
All the facilities of UUT 2013 are conveniently close to each other. On Sportpark De Eendracht we have fields, a sports canteen, changing rooms and toilets. The sleeping hall is just outside the sports park. Just outside the sports park there’s a spacious parking lot for your car. We recommend that you take all your valuable belongings from the car.
Sleeping hall
Location: Sporthal Aristos, Tom Schreursweg 10 Amsterdam
All teams can sleep here on Friday and Saturday night. For the veterans among us it will be a famillair location since it will again be at ‘Aristos’. The hall opens on Friday only at 22:00h be empty at 08.30h the next morning. As the hall will be in use on Saturday, we ask you to put your sleeping gear in a provided locker room during the day. You can shower at the fields, so we advise you to bring your bag to the fields. The hall opens again at 22:00h. On Sunday morning we have to leave the hall at 09.00h. There won’t be storage in the locker room again, so bring your stuff to the fields.
We kindly ask you to take off your shoes in the sleeping hall.
Canteen/ changing rooms
Canteen P&T
‘Sportpark De Eendracht’ ,Bok de Korverweg 18
During the day you can use the toilets at P&T canteen. After the games you may shower in the assigned locker rooms. You can also use the showers in the Aristos hall, but keep in mind that the hall won’t be open immediately after Saturday’s games.
Food and drinks
All-you-can-eat breakfast on Saturday and Sunday at the fields!!
No need to pack breakfast food for lunch. Lunch will be provided in a team box. Please return the lunch box to the organization table when you’re done on Saturday, otherwise we can’t box up your lunch for Sunday.
Saturday’s dinner will be provided as well. Just like previous editions of UUT we would like to make a statement for responsible food and therefore dinner & other courses such as breakfast and lunch will again be vegetarian. Of course everyone is free to bring some meat of their own if they so desire.
At the P&T canteen, you can buy drinks and snacks at good prices during the whole day.
Last but not least, we also have a special beer announcement! For the connoisseurs among us or the people who want to try out some special local flavour we will be selling IJbeer, a special beer from local microbrewery ‘t IJ. Definitely a must try!
Friday welcome
Location: Canteen P&T
Some teams might arrive earlier than 22:00 (that’s when the sleeping hall opens), some might arrive later, but for the ones who arrive earlier we have a nice kick-off with a small quiz where everyone can join in at any time!
Post-Match Game
Since we of NUTS love post-match games, we thought it would be cool if every team brings their own post-match game to UUT. For example a good game of Ninja so everyone can show their stealth skills off. We are excited to see your own versions of Ninja, Evolution or any other post-game game @ UUT Amsterdam.
There will be a price for the team with the most awesome game – So bring it on!
Saturday night party
Saturday night has a theme party in store for you. Royal! There’s a prize for the best costume, so get creative – be as royal as you can be. Think anything from Queen Elizabeth to King Bhumibol or Babar! The party has a dance floor in the canteen, in case you want to move your body to some beats. There is also a lounge area in the marquee.
